Fire information for montello area
Saw this and wanted to share it. Montello fire department is trained well, but they have old outdated equipment. They are volunteers and during normal working hours the response can be delayed.

Running water Yes Yes
I bought a 80 gallon per hour pond water pump. Sure it's gonna come out in a trickle as the sales guy said at the hardware store, but it's better than carrying 40 pound 5 gallon buckets of water. A 25 gallon bath tub should take about 20 minutes max to fill up. Kitchen sink maybe 10 minutes. Hooking up a water filter next month perhaps. They are $40 a pop, I might get 2 to make sure it's really filtered.

Montello or Bust 2012
Well I got my storage trailer with precut windows and doors on it's way to my land. I got my (20) 300 gallon water tanks cleaned and ready to be delivered to my land. Meeting the electric and phone guy in Montello when I arrive. Now to figure out how to move all my animals out there or start from scratch for animals.

Pallet Shed Built
I finished making a 2 pallet by 2 pallet by 2 pallet high shed today. Was rather easy and simple. The hardest part was the 2nd layer. Tomorrow I do the roof. Total pallet count was 16, I can get a minimum 32 in my truck. Going to try to make another one out of the better Walmart Blue Pallets. They are heavier and should be rock solid.

MONKEY BONE RANCH
This blog will be all about my adventure of moving to Pilot Valley, just south of Montello, Nevada. I am going to post all of my Research I have done in a short time, so that others that want to move to the area, will have the ground work to make a good choice and know up front that there are and will be challenges. We must learn from each others mistakes, that way we do not fail.
